Caroline Evelo

Caroline Evelo

Administrative Assistant

My name is Caroline Evelo, I was born and raised in Cincinnati, OH. I attended Spring Hill College in Mobile, AL where I majored in Early Childhood Education. During a senior project, I rediscovered my own Montessori roots. After graduation, I moved back home to attend the Montessori Education Program at Xavier University. I was a Montessori teacher for 10 years before I retired and started my own small jewelry business. I enjoy the creative side of making jewelry but what I really love is interacting with customers and collaborating with other small, local businesses. As a former teacher turned entrepreneur I can’t wait to learn and grow as I start this new chapter at Anchor Wellness!

BACKGROUND

How did you get into your field?

During the pandemic I really needed a creative outlet and started working with clay. After stepping away from education in the spring of 2022, I started my own small polymer clay jewelry business: Boom+Popp Designs (named after my dogs, Boomer and Poppy).

What is your training background?

I received my undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education from Spring Hill College in Mobile, AL. Then, attended Xavier University for Montessori Education. I was a Montessori teacher for 10 years before retiring and starting this new adventure.

Boom+Popp has been around for almost a full year! After opening an Etsy shop, I realized I love bringing my product to markets where I can meet customers face-to-face and support other local businesses.

Who influenced your career path (who have you enjoyed learning from, mentor, etc.)?

Maria Montessori was, and still is, a huge influence in my career path. She was an incredible physician and educator who worked with children and families from all backgrounds. Montessori was innovative, ambitious and bold.

What makes you love your field?

I love creating something tangible with my hands and bringing people joy through my creations.

INTERESTS/SPECIALITIES

What kind of clients do you love working with?

I genuinely enjoy meeting new people and look forward to helping existing and new clients at Anchor Wellness.

What sets you apart?

After managing a classroom of 24 young children, I can think of a few things that may set me apart. I am patient, observant, organized and flexible. I also have an ability to connect with people of all ages.

What’s your mission?

My mission is to support and elevate those around me, work hard towards my goals and find (at least) 3 reasons to be grateful every day.

HOBBIES

What do you do with your spare time?

Spending time with my husband and our dogs in Michigan brings me the most joy. Being outside, near the water with an amazing night sky is all I can really ask for.

In my spare time I love creating with polymer clay, meeting with my book club (The Boozy Bookworms), walking my dogs and cheering on the Bengals!
